Despite the fact that Apple and Samsung is dominating the touch-screen mobile phone devices Nokia is still not losing hope and have introduced some new models which are more efficient and competitive as compare to the previous failed models of Nokia. Its been quite up and down for Nokia and that’s why they decided to give-up there own operating system Symbian for cellphones and adapted Microsoft Windows OS. Not only they discarded Symbian OS but they also abandoned MeeGo platform which is a set back for Nokia. But that’s the way to go if you are looking in future you have to take these painful steps.

Physical Appearance:

The Nokia Lumia 800 is produced with a new material polycarbonate (plastic) and in unibody design means no joints. The design is very similar to Nokia N9 infect its the same shape and size. Design is very simple with all plastic body and three touch sensitive buttons.  MicroUSB port and head phone jack are hidden under plastic cover. Its dimensions are 116.5 x 61.2 x 12.1 mm, 76.1 cc and weights only 142 grams.

Operating System:

As i said earlier Nokia has abandoned MeeGo platform and this time they have included Microsoft Windows Phone 7.5 Mango which is the latest version of Microsoft OS for mobiles. Nokia hopes that the features which were lacking in the Symbian operating system will be fulfilled by Windows Phone 7.5. Apart from other great features it contains new features like copy/paste, multi-tasking and deeper social-networking integration.

Processor:

Powerful 1.4 GHz Scorpion CPU for enables you to multi-task and no jerks guaranteed. Chipset used by Nokia is Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon with Adreno 205 GPU. The processor is so powerful and efficient that after installing more than 25 applications and running multiple applications simultaneously it doesn’t slows down or stutter the phone.

Display Size:

Welcome to the world of AMOLED screen, although its not the first AMOLED screen mobile phone but you will see a clear difference when you use Nokia Lumia 800. Basically its screen is AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 16Million colors for beautiful sharp results. Of course its a multi-touch screen with resolution 480 x 800 pixels and 3.7 inches wide. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass with black color in the background and Nokia called it Nokia ClearBlack display.

Sound System:

keep in mind that this is not a music phone but still its sound quality is great specially what i like about this phone is that Nokia has shifted speaker from back side to the bottom of the phone so that when phone is on the table there will be not effect on the sound of the speaker.

Lots of connectivity options including Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth version 2.1 with A2DP, EDR, microUSB version 2.0, GPRS and EDGE.

Memory:

You will be amaze to read this that Nokia Lumia 800 has no memory card slot. But it has built-in memory of 16GB with 512MB of RAM which is more than enough for everyday use.

Camera:

Nokia Lumia 800 has the best camera ever produced by Nokia. Its has 8 mega Pixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and autofocus for sharp image quality. Camera resolution is 3264×2448 pixels and you can capture stunning videos of 720p at 30 frames per seconds.

Entertainment:

Entertainment and other features include MicroSIM card support, Accelerometer, proximity, compass, WAP 2.0/xHTML, HTML5, RSS feeds, Stereo FM radio with RDS, A-GPS support, Active noise cancellation with dedicated mic.

Colors:

Its has unibody design phone which means that you cannot change its casing neither it has any back covers. At the time of writing this article Nokia Lumia 800 is available in three colors Black, Cyan, Magenta but soon it will be available in white color also.

Standard battery of Li-Ion 1450 mAh (BV-5JW) with standby-time of Up to 265 hours, Talk-time of  Up to 13 hours and Music playback time of  Up to 55 hours.
