PayPal in Bangladesh will be launched in Sept 2012

Finally the wait is over for Bangladeshi tigers and soon they will check the taste of PayPal a premium online e-currency payment solution of the world. Bangladesh was among one of the unfortunate countries in the world like Pakistan, Iran, Afghanistan etc where PayPal is not available due to some banking issues but now after some delegations from Bangladesh visited PayPal officials in USA previous month which includes the CEO of Mr. Fahim Mashroor and Senior Vice President at BASIS (Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services). The tour was a success in which they had a meeting with senior executives of PayPal at PayPal head office in San Jose, California USA.

PayPal in Bangladesh
PayPal is no doubt the dream for every professional who works online in order to make money because its the only way to reach customers all around the world and send/receive payments from them. With PayPal unavailable in your country you are limited to very few online earning opportunities and hence more frustration for you in this era of economic recession.

Bringing PayPal in Bangladesh is the result of chain of events held in Bangladesh in last few years including eAsia Conference 2011, a top ICT event held in Dhaka last year. Later, after a moth of eAsia Conference 2011 officials from BASIS(Bangladesh association of software and information services) gave an announcement that PayPal has decided to start their operation in Bangladesh from September 2012.

Why PayPal is Still not Considering Pakistan.

The million dollar question for Pakistani online community when will PayPal going to start its services in Pakistan. After reading the above news its worrying time for Pakistan as we all know that Pakistan is bigger economy than Bangladesh and there is much more potential for PayPal here rather than Bangladesh. If they can convince PayPal to start their service in Bangladesh than its our fault that PayPal is still not available in Pakistan. Although you can open and verify PayPal account in Pakistan via some desi method.

I think the time is come that we should also get together to solve this issue and convince PayPal that there is also very much potential for them in this country. If there are some banking issues involve than it can be solved like any other issue. There is no issue in this world which can be solved(if you are serious to solve the issue.) I personally think that its also the responsibility of people related to banking sector as well as media to highlight this issue because if PayPal is going to start its service in Pakistan than there is a huge flood of jobs can be injected into our system where millions of students are jobless or earning very little.

  1. Proud Bangladeshi says:

Pakistan got SHIT not a bigger economy then Bangladesh!

  2. Ahmad @ Daily Tips says:

Its done in Bangladesh because their I.T community got their government support, can we aspect anything like that from our corrupt government?

    • Mohsin Ali Waheed says:

Ahmed we have to leave this habit of saying that every thing has to be done by our government. If our country is corrupt its mean that we are also corrupt so we should correct our selves rather than blaming on our government all the time.

    • Ahmad @ Daily Tips says:

You are right bro, we also need to correct ourselves too.

  3. Bilal [email protected] says:

I agree with Mohsin. Govt representatives are selected by nations, if you demand fairness in system then first we need to establish fairness in our own dealings. Then we will be able to demand from Govt.

PayPal is very important for Pakistan economy. It will help in increasing the foreign remittances.

Hope the next govt will think about it.

    • Mohsin Ali Waheed says:

Thanks Bilal for your precious comment, I always believe that Pakistan has much more potential than it looks like and all we need is a serious attitude towards IT infrastructure and managment.

  4. Harsh Agrawal says:

That’s like a great news..Hope they will add Pakistan in new future…

  5. Daudi says:

I heard that PayPal got some sort of interest issue in Pakistan that’s why they are not opening and some fake accounts thing or so. They should open one here because i need it badly. and many opening in Pak would increase their revenues with number of people.

    • Mohsin Ali Waheed says:

Daudi everyone in this world has its own interests and benefits. Its our duty to convince PayPal rather than just waiting for them to come in Pakistan.

  6. Nasif says:

Great news for Bangladeshi. The IT sector in Pakistan is getting popular. Paypal should give attention to Pakistan as well. Like the Government of India & Bangladesh, Pakistani Government should talk with Paypal regarding the issue.

    • Mohsin Ali Waheed says:

Thanks Nasif and congratulations that after September you will be able to use PayPal in Bangladesh.

  7. Raheel Mushtaq @ says:

Its really is sad for Pakistan, not getting Paypal even Bangladesh is getting. Paypal is being used among nearly everyone online and we can’t make transactions through it..! i don’t think Pakistan can develop having such problems.

  11. JoJo says:

I wonder now its 2012 and media have thousands of issues daily where they make video reports, discussions, but there is none of single channel who put light on PayPal issue in last 10 years which give a huge boost to Pakistan economy.

I am still wonder why media is still sleeping on this big issue, i think its big game because our bankers, WU, EasyPasia like services not want to come PayPal in Pakistan because there earnings will be down. because they are giants and much powerful in pakistan in money remit business and they can easily stop paypal to come in pakistan to involve with bureaucracy and gov. that’s why there is no Paypal issue comming on media too.

Or maybe paypal not come to pakistan due to some security issue about miss use of paypal to sending money to fake Org or terrorisom money or hundi money. and also peoples are here very corrupt they will do very miss use of paypal doing under invoicing. consumer frauds, that’s why gov don’t want it to come here.

    • Mohsin Ali Waheed says:

Yes Jojo its hard to believe that in 21st century we are still living in the age of stone. PayPal is a premium online e-currency service and its availability can boost your economy and can help to reduce joblessness.

Second thing you mention is very correct about media and i think that our media is very immature and they don’t have great mind behind them who can tell them the right way and thoughts. All the time they are portraying the negative image of Pakistan and never tells the positive side.

  12. John Ernest says:

So why isn’t Paypal launched yet in Pakistan? Isn’t it in any way connected to terrorist links in Pakistan? No offense for the question but I was just wondering.

    • Mohsin Ali Waheed says:

Paypal is an online service so why they have to worry about terrorists. They can open office in Pakistan and hire professionals from here. Also Pakistan is a safe country now and terrorism is a thing of past.

  13. Hammad says:

We all believe in Pakistan because it’s our Mother Land and give us lot and one thing more that our IT guys working very well in different field and getting too much work from Freelance websites but why Paypal is not opening their Offices in Pakistan is still a question mark for all of us.

  14. sania says:

we want paypal in pakistan :( , What can we do ? what the hell is this why paypal not open there services in pakistan, sometimes i thought i was and indian :D

  15. Ridoy Chowdhury says:
